Relocation to Vancouver, BC, Canada – 12/07/2009
After extensive preparation over months, we have uprooted ourselves from our Livermore, California headquarters. The move was planned to take advantage of the National Research Council-Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), Canada's premier innovation assistance program, and Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Tax Incentive Program among other reasons.
Canada has progressive regulatory systems and long-term green government policies. We feel that the green energy sector is poised for spectacular growth, creating significant opportunities for strategic partnerships and investment to develop and commercialize our unique and competitive technology. There is valuable infrastructure here, with a pool of high calibre fuel cell developers upon which to draw. The process of settling in is complete, with our R&D facility nearing capacity. We are looking to increase lab and workspace in spring of 2010.
Strategic Partnerships – 12/07/2009
A recent visit by a global supplier of automotive technology and components to our new office and R&D facility had us all very excited. The initial talks are positive, with a re-visit expected in early 2010. The discussions focused on the zinc fuel cell as the next generation of alternative energy after the much saturated market of PEM fuel cells today. PAC is prepared to be at the forefront to take advantage of this shift in the market with the alliances formed with other leaders in the sector.
Feb 2010 – Watch Us! – 12/07/2009
Our R&D team is hard at work. We aim to have developed a usable 6-cell stack >150 watt (desktop portable) and >1000 watt (portable unit) ready for demonstration to our partners and stakeholders by Feb 2010.
Fuel Cell Design – 12/07/2009
We took a notable step forward in making more compact our cells, thanks to a space-saving design that allows for better performance per cubic centimeter. This is one of more improvements we will make to allow our cells to deliver more power, more efficiently.
